The work of the NSRAC is delivered by the Working Groups, these groups meet to discuss current and emerging topics and to develop advice and policy on behalf of NSRAC membership. The Working Groups meet 3 to 4 times a year and allow a wide range of people to become involved in the NSRAC activities, including scientists, fishers, environmental specialists, economists and others.
Each Working Group may be supported by a number of Focus Groups. Focus Groups are smaller groups which are set up to address a specific topic. Focus Groups are flexible in their approach drawing in representatives and experts from a number of sources. They are short lived, concluding once the piece of work they are addressing is finalised.
There are three NSRAC Working Groups; Demersal, Skagerrak & Kattegat and Spatial Planning.
